A few years ago myself and a couple of friends were on a fishing holiday in France, during the trip for some reason two of us started losing backleads almost every chuck and within a few days the forty or so we had with us had gone, so we had to start improvising with the standard leads we had in our boxes. Towards the end of the week I sat back and totalled up the cost of this loss of lead and having previously only treated it as an inconvenience we were amazed that at the end of our trip that almost £100 of our money was laying on the bottom of that lake. Now, that week was unusual but it got us thinking about the cost of leads and backleads and how easily we lose them. I reasoned that there must be an alternative both in value and environmentally.
Well, after much searching and experimenting I believe there is an alternative.
The ROCKBAND SYSTEM, The Rockband system is by far the most versatile and economical way of using a natural stone/pebble as an angling weight, either as a leger or a 'backlead'.
Due to the less dense nature of a stone the system is best suited for margin to medium distance fishing whether chasing chub and barbel in rivers or carp and tench in lakes, any angler can now present a natural lead free weight to wary fish. In weedy situations i've used small pieces of wood or small apples as surface controllers, in fact anywhere there is an obvious risk of losing your weight or controller you can now choose to loose something natural and lead free as well as a lot less expensive, and the same applies to backleads.

At the moment the Ninebream range is a small one, each item has been or will be specially developed, or there for a good reason, I see no sense in putting out the identical kit countless other firms do unless i believe i can offer anglers a genuine saving. I like kit that does what it’s supposed to do without any frills or ridiculously expensive looking packaging. Therefore, Ninebream products are, innovative, purpose made and a little less harsh on the wallet.
